Praise for Today — Famous in Heaven
I was reading along in the book of Daniel today when I came across something that made me stop and think. Daniel 9:23 tells us how Daniel was viewed in Heaven.
“As soon as you began to pray, an answer was given, which I have come to tell you, for you are highly esteemed…” (Daniel 9:23).
An angel came to talk to Daniel. The angel told him he was highly esteemed. Can you imagine an angel tapping you on the shoulder and saying “Hey, guess what? In Heaven, you are highly esteemed!” This made me stop and think about the difference between how I am viewed in this world vs. how I am viewed in Heaven. It’s more important to me to be highly esteemed in Heaven than to be highly esteemed on this planet. Some people might seek fame here on Earth. I’d much rather be famous in heaven, just like Daniel. How about you?
Recipe for Today — Jalapeño Pesto Pasta Salad
Jalapeño Pesto Pasta Salad
Ingredients
- ½ pound pasta (bow-tie, rotini, etc)
- 1 cup fresh parsley
- 1 cup fresh cilantro
- 1 medium jalapeno
- 1 medium lemon juiced
- 1 medium garlic clove, chopped
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup slivered almonds
- ½ cup olive oil
- Black pepper, optional
- 1 can black beans, rinsed and drained
- 2 cups cherry tomatoes, sliced in half
- 1 ear of corn, freshly cut right off the cob
- 1 diced avocado
Steps
- Boil pasta in salted water according to package directions. Drain water and set aside.
- Make pesto by combining parsley, cilantro, jalapeno, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and almonds in food processor,then blending; then slowly drizzle in olive oil into food processor while blending
- Add pesto to pasta in large serving bowl and stir
- Add other ingredients and stir
