How do we know a beast represents a political kingdom in Bible prophecy?

In Bible prophecy, a beast represents a political kingdom. Whenever you read about beasts, you can replace the word beast with the word kingdom to better understand what God is revealing.

Beasts show up often in the prophetic books of Daniel and Revelation.

How do we know a beast represents a kingdom?

The angel Gabriel explained to Daniel what a beast means in Bible prophecy: “Thus he said:‘The fourth beast shall be A fourth kingdom on earth,…” (Daniel 7:23 NKJV).

“Those great beasts, which are four, are four kings which arise out of the earth” (Danile 7:17 NKJV). The footnote next to kings in this verse explains that these kings represent their kingdoms.

Kingdom fits the definition of a beast.
