Sea vs Earth/Land = highly populated area vs sparsely populated area
In Revelation 13, a political kingdom (described as a beast) is arising out of the sea. What does this mean?
An angel explained to John that waters in prophecy refer to large populations.
“Then the angel said to me, “The waters where the prostitute is ruling represent masses of people of every nation and language” (Revelation 17:15 NKJV).
A beast (a political kingdom) that arises from the sea is a political kingdom rising up in history among a highly populated area.
The angel didn’t define the earth/land specifically. Since earth/land is opposite of sea, we can understand the land represents the opposite of the sea, thus a sparsely populated area
